Description

Character Profile

Birthplace: Eluse, Aquanne, Moxil
Height: 1m78 (5'8)
Weight: 68 kg (150 lbs)
Age: 33
Birthday: October, 30
Hair: Green
Eyes: Pink
Occupation: Honorary High Priestess of the Sacred Waterway, Examiner,
Alignment: Good
Personality: Kind, considerate and soft-spoken but has a short fuse, even though less than Derva.
Criticizes bluntly but is smoother than Izekondi and often gets him to be less harsh on people.
Very responsible and reliable.
Respectful, polite but never familiar.
Many times unintentionally humorous with her deadpan way of saying things.
Doesn't display her relationship with Izekondi other than standing next to him or sometimes holding his hand.
Dislikes vulgarity and gaudiness and contempts women who act like victims to elicit men's sympathy.
Is staunchly monogamous like her husband.
Family: Poje (father), Thoan (mother, deceased), Quast (brother), Izekondi (husband), Unai (brother-in-law), Seiger (son), Vanadiane (daughter)
Story: Born in one of the poorest neighbourhoods of Aquanne, Anor had a rather difficult childhood and lived in a shabby boarding house with her parents and brother. Her mother died soon of an infectious disease while her father worked hard to support his children. Anor and her brother went to a local school where they were given rudimentary education but remained barely literate. Wanting to alleviate her father's burden, she trained herself hard to enter the exam of Aquanne's priesthood of the Sacred Waterway. And she passed, gaining her father and brother's admiration.
Anor worked a lot in the temple of the Sacred Waterway, especially to get rid of her illiteracy. When she turned 19, she entered the tournament that selected those who would be trained under Lady Senami [link] . She fought Derva [link] and got defeated but both were chosen all the same. At first, both girls loathed each other (Derva though Anor a pretentious bitch while Anor found Derva being a vapid knucklehead) but then learnt to know and appreciate one another, becoming very close and eventually teaming up very often.
During her time in the Sacred Waterway Convent, Anor was trained by the priestesses and formed a rivalry with a fellow priestess-in-training, Ganielle, a rich heiress. Both respect one another but are constantly challenging each other, even to this day. When Anor came back from her training with Lady Senami, she was appointed by the aged High Priestess as her successor but she stepped down in favor of Ganielle for she was pregnant from her son with her newfound life partner: Izekondi [link] . Nevertheless, Anor still holds the High Priestess title albeit honorarily.
She met the queen many times due to her high ranking status in the Convent and was the one to introduce Izekondi to her. She married Izekondi not long after Seiger's birth and then decided to stay home during the infancy of her children. She mothered Vanadiane, her daughter, shortly after.
She owns a pet genet, Mimi, given to her by her brother, that can speak and is gifted with limited telepathy and can tell when a lie is told. Quast, Anor's brother, was less successful and is now the chief of a brotherhood of thieves.
Anor isn't exactly part of the Queen's guard but, like Olano [link] , is rather a good backup and many times accompany the group if she can help in some way.
Weapons: A straight sword. Advanced swordswoman thanks to Lady Senami's training.
Powers: During her time in the Convent, Anor was taught how to control her Ki and how to enhance her strength and endurance thanks to it. She is naturally physically stronger than Derva but Derva's enhanced strength still outdoes Anor's.
The crux of Anor's powers is her ability to absorb in her body any kind of biological or magical energy cast at her. She then usually goes on fighting to make this energy grow stronger, thanks to her control over her Ki, to either hurl it back at her opponents or reshape it to virtually any weapon she desires (spear, whip, club etc...) and use it accordingly. If she stores enough energy and concentrates long enough, she can become a being of pure energy and run through her opponents at super speed, killing them instantly.
This power makes her immune to all energy-based attacks.
Weaknesses and annoying traits: Due to her poor upbringing, Anor is very conscious about money and can sometimes appear miserly or money-grubbing. Yet she mostly does it out of precaution than avarice.
Anor is always exacted and out-of-breath, hence very vulnerable, when changing from energy state to normal state. Plus, if she does it too long, her body might not rematerialize again, causing her to become and ghost and die out. Therefore, she only uses this power in dire situations.
Anor suffers from very brittle forearms which is why she seldom takes off her protections since, whenever someone grabs her there, she is reduced to her knees.
--------------

Derva's best friend and Izekondi's wife is a secondary character that shows up every now and then but who will often help. I made her somewhat different from Derva and more feminine since both complete each other.

One thing I would like to comment on is that after looking her over (and a few others, although not very thoroughly) is that she doesn't seem to have any major character faults.  I find that the best characters are frequently the one's with drastic character flaws.  Partially because it makes them more relatable (who among us doesn't have regrets or unfavorable traits?) and partially just because it gives the character something to develop conflict from.

An example from one of my recent D&D characters:
His (he has no name) village was destroyed by a dragon when he was about 7 years old.  He managed to escape into the forest where a Dryad found and raised him until he turned about 10.  By that point, he had become so obsessed with hunting down that dragon that his adopted mother abandoned him.
The major character fault with him being that he has become so single minded on destroying the dragon, that he will do anything to do it without thinking about the long term consequences.
